WORKSHEETS developed by the Fellows
A number of worksheets were created by the Fellows in the process of teaching classes. These are shared here.
Firstly there are a number of worksheets designed to be used as part of Listening and Speaking lessons involving showing movies.
English language movies are a rich source of English language.
Even when the English teacher is not present, students can play appropriate movies at home or in their dorm room and gain valuable experience soaking up English language figures of speech, different English accents from around the world, and heaps of new vocabulary.
But these pages on this website present something even better - resources to guide English language students through movies as they watch and listen. They are designed to explain words and phrases in the context of the movie, plus encourage students to listen for detail in authentic speech.
On the left side of each page you will notice counter numbers which represent the time in hours, minutes and seconds into the movie for the scene in which you will hear the dialogue of that particular question. Use these to locate scenes quickly by dragging the handle along the time bar in Windows Media Player.
English teachers, feel free to download question sheets and answer sheets for your classroom use. Even better, use them as a template to make your own resources that suit your students' age, interests and English language proficiency.
Each movie treated here has its own pop-out menu when you hover over the Worksheets tab on the left of the page..
Please respect copyright laws by using only authentic legally obtained movie media.
